The Revelation of Jesus Christ is the real name of the last book of the bible. The Author is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself (Rev.22:16). These 22 chapters in all, are the last day events, also called Eschatology in Theological terms. In the past, people have called it a sealed book, and it was until 1844 when the prophecies of Daniel were unsealed to reveal the 'cartoon' like symbols.

The very name 'Revelation' means that it is revealing and the Greek in which the new testament (N.T.) was written, apocalypsis means revealing. Revelation or the Apocalypse, is the only book in the Bible where God promises a special blessing (Rev.1:3).

John the writer, was banned to the isle of Patmos for the spirit of Prophecy and was one of the last living disciples of Jesus. Historians tell us that they tried to burn him alive in a coldrum of boiling oil, but God gave special protection just like He did to the three young Hebrews in the book of Daniel.

Q.: When did John receive the Apocalypse- Revelation of Jesus Christ? A.: On Christ's seventh day Sabbath, the true Lord's Day (Saturday) in 70 A.D. The only Lord's day in the N.T. is that of Jesus (see Matth.12:8 and Mark 2:28). In the U.S.A. they have long ago formed the Lord's day alliance, a powerful lobby group to promote the false Lord's day (Sunday). Also the recent papal letter "Deis Domini" [day of the Lord] quotes Genesis 2:2 and the Ten Commandments to sustain his unbiblical day of the sun.

According to Eusebius, John was banished to Patmos by the Emperor Domitian in AD 95, and released 18 months later under Nerva (HE III.18.1; 20.8-9).

The early historian Eusebius tells us that after Domitian's reign he was succeeded by Nerva. Under him the Roman senate decreed that those unjustly exiled could return to their homes and have their goods restored. It was then that the Apostle John "returned from his banishment in Patmos, and took up his abode at Ephesus, according to an ancient tradition of the Church." (Ecclesiastical History, Eusebius, Chapter 20, p. 103) This would have been around the year AD 96.

A very recent and silent change in the international new Calendar, Monday instead of Sunday has been designated as the first day of the week, probably because it is the first working day apart from weekend trading. This would make Sunday now the seventh day of the week in place of Saturday. This not only presents a problem for the Bible, but also for the international Community because in some countries like Greece for instance, in which language the new testament was written, they still designate Saturday as the seventh day Sabato in their language and so do some other countries.
God says, the seventh day is the Sabbath, my holy day.

Since Revelation (Apocalypse) is a book for the last days, and since it centres on Jesus and his resurrection, one would expect to find some exciting comments in the book in regard to the church custom of keeping Sunday as a holy day in honour of the resurrection.

But, strangely, the day itself is not even mentioned. Stranger yet, though the day is mentioned eight times in the other books of the new testament, in no case is a command given to keep it holy. Since millions of sincere and loving bible-believing Christians worship on Sunday, why is the Bible so strangely silent on this subject, or is it???

Revelation (Apocalypse) says that it is prophecy and was written to the seven Churches (1:3+4). If it had been for the seven literal churches in Asia Minor at that particular time in history, it would not be a prophecy, but instead, it spans the whole era of the history of Christianity. While this follows a sequence, the rest of Revelation does not.

Traditional Methods of Interpretation

Pretorism. The pretorist method holds that the book of Revelation is addressed to the seven churches of Asia only and therefore does not contain any predictive prophecy. It was written by a single man, Luis de Alcazar [1554-1613] to counter- act the protestant Reformation. His idea was to deflect all biblical pointers of Anti-Christ away from papal Rome to imperial Rome.

Futurism. The futuristic method was also devised by a catholic priest in re-directing prophecy away from papal Rome into a far distant future to an Anti-Christ yet to come in the last nick of time before the Christ advent. Francisco Ribera [1537-1591], even though from the same Jesuit priesthood as his colleague Alcazar and strongly contradicting his method of interpretation, was far more successful with the Protestants. All Reformers have rejected both these views and Protestantism resisted them for over 400 years, there has now come a change.

Idealism. The idealist method argues against any historical purpose of the symbols in Revelation. Rather, that the book contains a description of the ongoing struggle between good and evil. The major problem with idealism is that it, like pretorism, denies the prophetic application of the book.

Historicism. The historical method holds that the book of Revelation provides a symbolic presentation of the prophetic outline of the future course of history from the apostolic times until the time of the end. This method argues that Revelation is rooted in the book of Daniel to help unlock its many symbols. As a safeguard, Revelation should be approached with a presupposition that the scenes and actions portrayed there are symbolic or figurative in nature, unless the context clearly indicates that a literal meaning is intended.

Biblical scholars have long debated whether Revelation is an apocalyptic work or prophecy. The book itself claims to be a prophecy [1:3; 22;7, 18-19].
The science and art of the study of biblical text is called "hermeneutics." The word simply means "interpretation". When hermeneutics is applied to the analysis of biblical text, we call it 'exegesis" [Greek: to draw out]. Exegesis is the process of deriving meaning from biblical text by bridging the gap between the world of the Bible at the time of the inspired author and the reader of today.

We do not wish to bore our visitors and readers with to many details and therefore only deal with the most important verses that have specific meanings for our time. Daniel the prophet in the Old Testament told us that when in these last days knowledge and travel would increase, his prophetic book would be unsealed. As a result, we can now decipher the last book of the Bible called Revelation or Apocalypse.

Revelation 2:15: "So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitanes, which thing I hate."
Nicolaitane comes from two Greek words: Nikao which means to conquer, and Lao which means laity. Nicolaitane means, "to conquer the laity." Some began, Ignatius among them, to teach that the idea of a bishop was one of preiminence or authority and control over the elders. But this is wrong. "Elder" signifies an older experienced man, while the word bishop signifies the office of the same man. The church of the middle and dark ages sold offices such as bishoprice and cardinals to the rich in finance rather than the rich in faith. --Matthew 20:25-28; 23:8-9

Fallen Babylon

What is fallen Babylon? How did ancient Babylon fall? God fell it because they were defiling the vessels of God's holy sanctuary temple. Their King Beltchezzar displayed his disdain in a drunken orgy of lust. God answered him with the handwriting on the wall which made him instantly sober.

When God does this to a heathen King, how much more should He do this to fallen Christianity who also trample on God's sacred vessels. Pagan Rome destroyed the earthly temple in 70 a.d. but its successor, papal Rome, trampled under foot the sacred teachings of salvation and Christ's heavenly priesthood for 1260 days of years.

Her Protestant daughters (Revel.17) doing one better. Papal Rome only dispensed with two of the Ten Commandments which have to do with worship. But fallen Protestantism (see the Miscellaneous page) since 1830 a.d. teach against all of the Ten Commandments, which are the most sacred vessels of all of God's sanctuary temple in heaven above. Here is the real reason for apostasy. Rejecting something from CHRIST just because it is unpopular with the world and therefore with politicians, CHRIST's holy Sabbath day, is a moral fall.

While the Motherchurch has been in a fallen condition for centuries, Protestant Reformers tried in vain to reform her. Today, Romanists are so suprised to see her daughters coming back home. What is the cause? Protestants have given up on the protest and having sunken and accepted the Catholic Counter-Reformation teachings of the Jesuit priests in form of pretorism and futurism mentioned above, they have come to see Roman Catholicism in much of the same light after many decades of negotiations and compromising. Revelation 17 will find its climax when the world council of church uphold roman catholicism in using the arms of the states to enforce false dogmas, the mark of the beast 666.

Most Evangelical fundamentalists have missed the point. It can be clearly seen by authors such as Hal Lindsey and M.R.deHaan in insisting that the woman of the book of Revelation cannot be the Christian church, but refers to the nation of Israel alone. But GOD clearly says that He is finished with Israel as a nation and that it has been replaced by a new nation [Christianity].
"If those ordinances depart from before Me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel shall cease from being a nation before Me forever." [Jer.31:26]

When did the ordinances depart? "That at the time you were without CHRIST, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers of the covenant of promise..................having abolished in the flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances." [Eph.2:12,15].
"Blotting out the handwritings of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to the cross." [Col.2:14].

The ceremonial laws contained in ordinaces of the old testament that had pointed to CHRIST the lamb of GOD was the centre of the sanctuary system explaining the Gospel in details. The earthly shadowy sanctuary was only a copy of the original one in heaven, the real thing. The earthly was now come to an end, and CHRIST is now our real high Priest and the sacrifice all in one. The earthly sacrifices with all its food and drink offerings as well as holy days are no longer needed.
"Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary." [Hebr.9:1] because of this worldly sanctuary, the apostle Paul also called all its services connected with it "rudiments of the world'" [see Col.2:8,20] which include the seven Jewish yearly Sabbath feast apart from GOD's Sabbath of the 10 Commandments. [Cf. Gal.4:10 with 1.Cor.7:19] etc.

to literal Israel JESUS said: The stone [rock] which the builders rejected...........Therefore I say unto you, The Kingdom of GOD shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruit thereof." [Matth.21:42,43].

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation." [1.Peter 2:9].

"Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people [Daniel's people] and upon thy holy city [earthly Jerusalem], to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy [Sanctuary]."

70 weeks of prophetic years extended to the time of Christ, namely 490 years, or 70x70. Since the earthly temple Sanctuary ended with the cross of JESUS CHRIST on Calvary. to anoint the Most Holy place in heaven, is the only way to acknowledge JESUS as our Saviour from sin. Evangelicals like Hal Lindsay and deHaan are concentrating on the rebuilding and restoring of the earthly which was abolished at the cross. Literal Israel is now spiritual Israel.
In refuting the Evangelical fundamentalist interpretation and their denial of the church being the woman, either pure or corrupt, we quote Revelation itself: "Let us be glad and rejoice................for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready......blessed are they which are called to the marriage." [Rev.19:7-9].

Armageddon

Theologians today would face an embarrassment if they had to point out a physical location of Armageddon! So, what is the last war or battle of Armageddon? According to Revelation 12:17 and 14:12, it is over the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ held by the Remnants or leftovers of Christianity. God's holy Law of morals, the Decalogue, is a spiritual Law (Rom.7:14,12,7) deposited in the ark of God under His throne or mercy seat (Hebrews 8:1-5).

Further Observation on Rev.17

The difference between the 7 headed beast in Rev.13 and Rev.17, is that in Rev.13 the horns ( rulers ) have crowns, but in Rev.17 the crown are not mentioned because they were taken away by the French Revolution July 14,1789-1799. Most of the world followed France in disposing royalty and introduce democracies. But in Rev.17 under the NWO (New World Order), democracy and the protestant Reformation will be reversed.

Also note that in 1798 the pope was taken prisoner and off the royal throne of the empire by the French army. But the 10 horns in Rev.17 will receive power "as" Kings do (verse 12). The Beast in Rev.13 stands on the beach because it grew out of the water ( the world's population ) but in Rev.17 it is the great Whore that is seated on many waters and she was also seen in the wilderness ( v.3 ) which corresponds with Rev. 12:6,14, the 1260 days of years of papal reign.

Please also note that in Daniel chapter seven the 10 horns or kings that roamed and ruled Rome in its dying stages, 3 were uprooted to make room for the little horn or papacy who than became the eight's. But this is not the case in Rev.17 even though the territory of the Roman Empire still applies under what is now known as the treaty of Rome, or the European Common Market to do a lot of trading of merchandise mentioned in Revelation 18.

Through the centuries practically every country of Europe has its state church, and all call the church of Rome their mother. It can therefore symbolize nothing less than the universal churches. Then it is seen breaking up into three major parts, catholicism, protestantism and spiritualism which unites hem.

1 000 years [Millennium] of peace!

The advent of Jesus will usher in the peace we all long for. Do not let Jehovah's Witnesses entangle you in endless arguments. Luke 24:37 makes 1914 a non-event. Jesus did not resurrect a as a Spirit, and therefore did not return on that date, floating as a Spirit, trying to improve world condition.

That expression "bottomless pit" represents the earth in a state of confusion and darkness is evident from other scriptures. Concerning the condition of the earth "in the beginning," the Bible record says that it "was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep."-Gen.1:2 The word "deep" here is rendered in the Greek Septuagint version as "bottomless pit".

Prophecy teaches that it will be brought back, partially at least, to this condition. Looking forward to this great day of God, the prophet Jeremiah declares: "I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down.---Jer.4:23-26.

Here is to be the home of Satan and his evil angels for a thousand years.--- (Apocalypse 20:1-3). Limited to this earth, he will not have access to other worlds to tempt and annoy those who have never fallen. It is in this sense that he is bound: there are none remaining, on whom he can exercise his power. He is completely cut off from the work of deception and ruin which for so many centuries has been his only delight.

The prophet Isaiah, looking forward to the overthrow of Satan, writes, How have you fallen from heaven Lucifer, son of the morning! how have you been cut down to the ground, which did weaken the nations!.......that made the world a wilderness and destroyed the cities thereof!---Is.14:12-17.

For six thousand years, Satan's work of rebellion has "made the earth to tremble". He now has plenty of time to think and watch the ruins he has caused. At this very time, the victorious saints that have overcome the beast 666 will sit with Christ Jesus on the thrones of judgment (Apocalypse 20:4,6).

The Woman that rides the Beast

Riding also means to steer or direct the beast, in this case, the reigning government willing to do her bidding and enforce her false and impure dogmas.

What or who is the Woman? Here the whole of Christianity has been led astray by authors such as Dr. DeHaan and other rapture advocates. Their problem is with the three and a half years prophecy of Anti-Christ inherited from dispensationalist John Darby and the Oxford tract society who borrowed heavily from the Roman Catholic Counter-Reformation doctrines.

DeHaan declares the 'woman' is none other than the Nation of Israel despite the fact that God says explicitly that He is finished with old Israel. Those who would make the woman the church, he said, will find it difficult to harmonize this fact with their interpretation.---35 Simple Studies on the major themes in Rev.,p.168.

Roman Catholicism of course declares the woman of Revelation 12 (Apocalypse), to be Mother Mary. No one has ever seen her in the wilderness yet. And how is the Nation of Israel going to mount the Beast 666 and lead the New World Order or the Catholic Church? This is absurd!
The woman is said to be clothed with the sun (sun of righteousness) and the moon is under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. Just as the moon has no light of its self and reflects the light of the sun, so the old testament light was only dim, a shadow of the new. The full truth and glory of Christ's righteousness shines now in the new testament age.

The old Israel and the old testament had their twelve tribes, which have now been transferred to the new Israel and the new testament (James 1:1). We now also have the twelve apostles, and these are represented by the church or woman's crown with the twelve stars in Revelation (Apocalypse) chapter 12.
They are being hunted and persecuted by the Dragon which has seven crowns on his heads (verse2). The duration the woman had to flee from the dragon into the wilderness will also help to identify the woman. The literal three and a half years that Protestantism now believes in, is borrowed directly from Futurism of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Protestant version is the year day principle and we have shown that Satan worked for 1260 days of years from 538-1798 A.D. using the church of Rome to persecute the woman.

Paul says that he has espoused the true Christian convert as a "VIRGIN" to Christ (1.Cor.11:2) and every born again Christian is cleansed from sin by the blood of Jesus and therefore his life has been ironed out and no longer has wrinkles, spots (of sin) but should be holy and without blemish (Eph.5:27).

The shining robe of Jesus and His righteousness and His glory replaces our own righteousness, which is as filthy rags. But when we come to the end of chapter 12, we can see the identifying marks of the woman's offspring's, children, remnants or leftovers. They keep the Commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus and His testimony. The testimony are the Ten Commandments and Christianity should rename them to the Nine Commandments because they do not obey the fourth, The Sabbath of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation present prophecy as a slide show, and not as a movie or video. The views given are snapshots in time, spread out over the entire history of God's people. Symbols are used to depict different ideas of how these characters present themselves at different times.

One example is the two horned beast of Rev. 13 and the false prophet. The two horned beast is the United States, a nation, while the false prophet is apostate Protestantism. Yet we see the two different characters playing the same role at the same time and we must conclude they represent one and the same. In other words, the Two Horned Beast of Rev. 13:11 is identical with the False Prophet in later chapters. They are one and the same. Yet they are also distinct, in that Apostate Protestantism identified totally with America is part of America, but America is more than the Apostate Protestants within it. The two symbols show that the American False Prophet is joined to the government of America, part and parcel with it, and America speaks through the voice of the False Prophet. A true prophet is never joined to a Nation.
